Boomerang '23 is a new music event catering exclusively to a more mature crowd of music lovers from a bygone era: the golden age of rock, pop, eighties hits, reggae, swing, jazz, blues and everything in-between.

The event was conceived by veteran broadcaster, Allan Barnard, who felt that most music festivals were not catering to his generation who still enjoy a raucous get-together with friends. He came up with the idea of "Boomerang", a tribute music festival, where contemporary artists pay tribute to classic songs and bring them back to life again.

Boomerang will be held on 9 December 2023 in the village of Riebeek Kasteel

THE Vibe

From all walks of life Boomerangers will come together to celebrate the music and memories of their generation creating a festive vibe of conviviality camaraderie familiarity friendship and of course FUN

To some, it will feel like a giant school reunion, to others, like a get-together of friends for a whole day of partying with non-stop music, food, and catching up over a bottle or two of local wine. You’re almost certain to bump into long lost friends, acquaintances, work colleagues, maybe even an old flame!

The festival features multiple bands playing non-stop hits from the Baby Boomer generation. The bands will perform the most-loved hits of the 60s to the early 90s. You may not know all the bands, but you'll definitely know the music!

Located on the northern side of Riebeek Kasteel, just past the imposing church and behind the Riebeek Kasteel Primary School lies the beautifully located venue with magnificent views to the vineyards and the majestic mountains beyond.

The festival is within strolling distance of shops, restaurants and art galleries in the village of Riebeek Kasteel. There are plenty accommodation options in and around the village and its neighbour, Riebeek West, just 5km further. It will be wise to book early!
